Wet Seal Outfit - 3/31/08

Today was one of those days that flew by just like I wanted it to! I actually went home early from work, if you call working 9 hours early.. I felt sooo guilty though!

I LOVE WetSeal. I know it is a “lower” end store but if you choose carefully, you’ll find cute clothes at great prices. Anf I know it is a “teen” clothing & I am a lot older than “teen” but it fits and that is all that matters!

Wet Seal Outfit:

Wet Seal Dress w/ Belt - Cute Black dress w/ white flowers. I wore the belt over the jacket.
Wet Seal Short-Sleeved Jacket in Black - This came with a cute belt (not worn), too!
Alfani Heels in Black w/ White trimmings. Cute!

TOP 10 SPRING TRENDS!! (Long)

My Top 10 Spring trends!! I had some ladies ask me to compile a list of “Top 10 Spring Trends." I am hoping to buy all the trend listed and show you guys!

I hope you guys enjoy this list!

10. Long Dresses - I'm starting out with this but I personally won’t be buying this trend. I have seen a lot of people starting to wear it. I think it’s a cute style if you have the right body style. At 5’3, I am kind of on the short side and I know that it would not flatter my body. I had to add it on this list because if I were tall, I would totally buy this trend!

(Left) T-bags (Neiman Marcus) Long Halter Dress $220.00
(Right) Wetseal Smocked Maxi Dress $27.50

9. Natural Wooden Bangles in Animal Prints! This look is so gorgeous! I LOVE animal print because it looks stylish & funky!

(Left) Nordstroms Sequin Thick Animal Print Bangle $38.00/each
(Right) www.Bjewels.com Animal Print Oriental-Style Bracelet $5.99

8. Shirt Dresses - These are soo cute. I saw really cute ones at Wetseal last week and now they are sold out! Taught me a lesson to BUY when I SEE! I really, really want a cute shirt dress. It is perfect for work!

(Left) Phoebe (Nordstroms) Ruffle Front Shirtdress $248.00
(Right) Charlotte Russe Halter Shirt Dress $28.99

7. Short-Sleeved Jackets - Spring usually means “perfect weather” but, for some reason, I am still always cold! These are perfect for days like that. Also, it is perfect to wear bracelets with since you can actually see my bracelet instead of it being covered up by a long-sleeved jacket!

(Left) Michael Kors Three-Quarter-Sleeve Belted Trench $179.50
(Right) Wetseal 2 Pocket Bomber Jacket $26.50

6. Rings - I’ve been searching for exotic and unique rings. It’s wonderful how a simple ring can adds so much to your style! This “amber” color is soo gorgeous and matches with everything!!

(Left) Rebecca (Nordstroms) Large Oval Ring $454.00
(Right) Arden B. Large Oval Ring $18.00

5. Bold Geometric Prints Dresses - These are perfect for special occasions or get-togethers. All that matters is that it is not just a LBD!

(Left) Sue Wong Print Silk Trapeze Dress $328.00
(Right) Arden B. Printed Babydoll Dress $118

4. Floral Dresses - What can I say? I love dresses! Floral dresses are so girly and perfect for “spring” and even into summer!

(Left) LaROK 'Cup du Jour' Dress for $348 or
(Right) Wetseal for only $22.50!

3. Jeweled Embellishments - Embellishments add a sense of sophistication! I browed Marshall’s yesterday and found a jacket similar to the L.A.M.B. one pictured below. I love how gorgeous this trend is!

(Left) L.A.M.B. Beaded Swing Coat $365
(Right) Style&co. (Macys) Printed Dress with Embellishment $48.30

2. Anything Pleated - I have been buying a lot of pleated skirts lately. I saw a really cute red pleated dress (not pictured) but it wasn’t my size. It was at Ross for only $15!!

(Left) Robert Rodriguez Pleated Silk Blouse $297.00 OR
(Right) Charlotte Russe Pleated Halter Top $18.99

AND........

1. Bright colors!! This is #1 on my list. I LOVE BOLD, bright colors! However, I only do one color (maybe 2 if I am feeling crazzyy) at a time.

(Left) L.A.M.B. 'Lucille' Dress $325
(Right) Charlotte Russe Pleated Blouse $21.99

Comfortable Outfit - 3/28/2008

It’s Friday!! Wahhooo! I’ve been waiting for this day since Monday!

I want to relax but I am so stressed out. I have to work tomorrow but I’ll work from home so it won’t be that bad. I’ll be working in the sweats!

Some days, I just want to dress comfortable but still look cute! Today was one of those days. I have to say that this outfit is no sweats but it was really comfortable!

Comfortable Outfit:

Wet Seal Brown Shirt - Soo comfortable!
Banana Republic Pants in Cream w/ Brown stitchings
Joan & David Brown patent heels - I wear this often because it’s so comfortable!
http://www.bjewels.com/ necklace & bracelet - The bracelet is sooo cute! Here is a close up:

My Review of TurboTax - 3/28/08

My Review of TurboTax
5/5 stars

TurboTax – Can be purchased at stores or online. I bought my software online. I don’t need the box or CD!!

Perks:

So easy to use! Their software guides you through each step. If you have any questions, the software if prepared to answer it for you. This is software is extremely smart!

Inexpensive! I paid $80 compared to $300 at H&R Block!

This software took less time to complete than H&R Block’s process. H&R Block asks you random questions that this software skips if it doesn’t pertain to you!

The software illustrates your “audit risk”. I think this is pretty cool and it gives you somewhat of a relief to know what your audit risks are. My audit risk was on the low side.

You have the choice of sending your tax return in or e-filing. If you e-file, you’ll need to know your prior year tax return’s AGI (adjusted gross income). Your AGI is used as your “digital signature”.

You also have the choice of paying your taxes through the software! This is really great because if you were to pay with your credit card through the IRS’ process, the payment center charges you 2.49%.

Personally, I think I can rely more on TurboTax’s tax return than H&R Block’s. H&R Block asked me some shady questions in order to up my refund. I really don’t like that because if you get caught.. Remember, it’s YOUR social security NOT H&R Block’s!

Cons:

There weren’t that many cons. Just remember that you need ALL of your paperwork in order to complete your tax return appropriately.

Really, it was just so easy and inexpensive that I can’t think of any cons.

Conclusion:

Use it! Its soo easy, fast, and kind of FUN! I give TurboTax a rare 5/5 stars!

My Review on H&R Block - 3/26/2008

My Review on H&R Block
0/5 stars

It's TAX TIME and April 15th is coming soon! So here is my review on H&R Block. A review on TurboTax will be coming soon!

Perks:

Easy way to do your taxes? That’s all I got. Actually, TurboTax is easier than dealing with these people.

Cons:

There are so many! Where do I begin!!??

The ‘tax professionals’ ARE NOT tax professionals. Most of them only had the one course that H&R block offers to everyone! They are regular people doing YOUR taxes!! That means most of them do not know what to do when the tax situation involves more than just a W-2 form.

Last year, my tax preparer realized that she did my tax return wrong AFTER I left. So she re-did it, WITHOUT MY PERMISSION, and sent it in. Did she even send me a copy? Yes, but the wrong one!! So now I’m trying to do my taxes and I don’t have the correct copy.

So I called them today and the guy RUDELY informs me that in order to get the correct copy, I have to contact the IRS and request a copy for $30. I have to pay $30 for a copy of my tax return that they created but did not give the correct copy of? Wow, great customer service, H&R Block.

Cheap? I don’t know if it’s cheap since they add a bunch of charges each time you want to add a form. You might think it’s cheap because it seems like they are the only tax preparer chain out there but it’s NOT cheap. It cost me $300 to do my taxes!! I could have gone somewhere else. Support those little businesses. Or even Turbo Tax (which I am trying this year..review to come!).

Conclusion:

It might be cheap & easy to do but the headache is NOT worth it!! H&R Block sucks!

Feel Better Outfit - 3/25/2008

When you dress better, you feel better! Try it! I noticed that I feel much better when I dress up for work than when I worked from home in my sweats. Don’t get me wrong, I would love not to dress up some days but, having been through a year in sweats and no where to go that required dressing up, I cherish the mornings when I CAN’T FIND ANYTHING TO WEAR!!

Feel Better Outfit:

BCBG Gray wide-leg slacks
Banana Republic Jacket in White
Wet Seal Sweater top in Purple - Only $10!
Purple belt - I forgot where I got this!
BCBGirls White Snake-skin like heels w/ Pink trimmings

Hi guys!

So I was looking through some pics of celebs today and realized that my outfit looked similar to Actress Kim Cattrell’s! I have no idea what she is doing but she sure looks like she is having FUN!!

Monday’s are always soo dreary! I hope that everyone enjoyed their day. As for me, it was “just another day”.. I hate days like this because it seems like life is just passing me by =(

On a lighter note! Here are the details to my outfit..

Kim Cattrall Outfit (my own not what she is wearing):

Guess Black w/ blue Semi-plaid slacks - These have a large opening at the bottom, which I love! It completely covers my heels!

"The Air I Breathe" Movie Review

My Review on the movie, “The Air I Breathe”
3/5 stars

Description:

So, it’s Saturday night & I finished watching “The Air I Breathe.” I love nights like this where I can totally relax! I haven’t had one of these in awhile!

Perks:

So many people are in this movie!! Sarah Michelle Gellar, Forest Whitaker, Andy Garcia, Brandon Frasier. Awesome cast! Sarah Michelle Gellar is a wonderful actress and she is gorgeous, too!

I love butterflies! This movie had many references to butterflies. I LOVED the opening scene’s lines. It was something like, “When a butterfly leaves its cocoon, does it know how beautiful it is? Or does it still think/feel (?) like a caterpillar?”

Cons:

It just a personal ‘con’ but I hate it when *********SPOILER ALERT *********** main character(s) die in a movie. It’s like I get connected to a person and BAM they die. That’s it. But I know it is what makes a movie good sometimes and maybe this ‘con’ is really a ‘perk’ because I’ll be more likely remember this movie. Like I said, this is a personal ‘con’ because I only watch happy go-lucky movies. LOL!

Conclusion:

I gave it 3/5 stars which is really good for what it is because I usually watch happy, feel-good movies. I absolutely hate DRAMA & action. I feel like there is enough of that in my life!! I do recommend watching this movie. It is wonderfully casted and I feel like it is deeper than I understood. I would really love to watch it again!

Watch it! Really, watch it! ;)

Lysol Review - 3/22/08

My Review of Lysol Neutra Air
5/5 stars

So this might be TMI, but…my bathroom has smelled like mildew lately! I clean it, put potpourri in there, even sprayed it w/ perfume but it seems to only mask the smell. So I was at Ralph’s and saw this new Lysol. It was on sale --Two for $3.69, I might as well try it since it's on sale! Here is my review =)

Description:

Lysol Neutra Air. It’s supposed to ‘destroy bacterial odors’. Just spray and let it work.

Perks:

It was cheap!! You know how I like quality items at good prices! I’ve only used it a couple of times and it seems to work. I have to remember is that it is ‘temporary’.

I thought the smell would be stronger. The smell is very faint which is a good thing because I don’t want the smell to be overbearing!

Cons:

None yet!

Conclusion:

If you guys know another solution for my 'problem', please let me know!!

Free Underwear! Outfit - 3/21/08

Hi Everyone!

I love it when I get to work from home. I get to make money & hang out with my BF. Best of both worlds!

I waxed my eyebrows this morning. My eyebrows are outta control when they aren’t waxed! I waxed them for only $9 + tip. That’s a great deal! Not only that, I was fortunate enough to find a lady that knows how to tame my eyebrows! That’s rare!

This outfit was from yesterday. I was too tired to blog yesterday, sorry! I went to the mall to get a free underwear from Victoria Secret yesterday. They send a card from time-to-time giving me a free underwear, no purchase necessary! So I never buy underwear!! Well...unless it's for my BF ;)

Free Underwear! Outfit:

Old Navy Striped Button-down collared shirt - $15!
Banana Republic Waist-high skirt in Navy
BCBGirls Denim color Heels w/ Gold trimmings
Wet Seal Belt in Gold - $10!

www.winkflash.com Review

My Review of www.winkflash.com
4/5 stars

Winkflash is having a sale on their photobooks again! I ordered from their site before and loved their quality!! I always wait until their sale to order my books. This morning, I created a book for my mom, aunt, &, of course, myself! One day, I want to create a photobook of all my outfits!!

Description:
I purchased the 10x8 photobook w/ unlimited pages (max 100 pgs) for only $19.95 or $19.99, I can’t remember! You can pick from many cover colors, I usually stick to black (exactly like the picture above), I’ve ordered burgundy before and it is just as gorgeous! You can even custom emboss the cover!

Perks:
AGAIN, the books are just so gorgeous! The quality comes out good if your photos are high-quality, from what I've heard. I usually take my pictures in high-quality, so my photobook pictures come out somewhat clear.

I think $19.95 (or $19.99) is a great deal! Its like getting 100+ pictures printed in the book for only $20! I make my photobooks full-page pictures w/ only a few pages where I do 2 to a page. I’ve made a book w/ 4 pictures to a page and it looks nice but I would rather have a large picture (below) on each page since I have 100 pages to work with anyway!

Winkflash.com also has editing options. If you don’t have Photoshop or a photo-editing program, this is very helpful! I love using the ‘sepia’ or ‘black & white’ option on some photos. You can also add text to each picture. I don't add text because I use full-page pictures.

Lastly, they ship very fast! I received my book w/in a week the last time I ordered.

Cons:
Their uploading is so slow, maybe it’s because my pictures are such large files? I’ve tried their bulk-uploading program but I just gave up on it because, for some reason, it took so long for the files to transfer to winkflash’s site. This occurs when uploading to albums as well. Also, when I have to change albums, that takes FOREVER to load.

Also, it takes so long to create a book because I constantly have to ‘save’ & ‘add page’. I think that the time to ‘add page’, & ‘save’ takes too long to load. I have to add that my internet connection is fast, so that is not my problem! Lets just say their site is slow. So be patient!
One more thing, I wish there was a way to see an thumbnail of all the pages. I just want to double-check if I used all the pictures I wanted to use and if they are in the right places. They do have one feature where it tells you if you have already used that picture. This is useful if you name your picture! I don't name my pics, so all pics are IMG1234, etc.

Conclusion:

The perks far outweighs the petty cons here. I strongly recommend this place! I LOVE it, I wish I had more time to create more books! Below is a picture off their website that provides more info:

Work Outfit - 3/13/08

Like I always say, I LOVE a great deal! This bright blue sweater was only $10 at Wet Seal! It is really good quality too! I bought it in soo many colors: light blue, dark blue, white, black, yellow..

Do you tend to buy multiples of the same items like I do when you find something that you like? I do this ALL the time. I have 4 pairs True Religion jeans that are exactly the same: 8 total: 2 each of the same style! And most of the time, I never wear the 2nd item! The process is so much fun though!

Work Outfit:

Old Navy - Navy undershirt - Only $5!
Wet Seal Cotton sweater in Bright Blue - Only $10!
Max Studio brown slacks - $50
Joan & David Patent brown heels - Only $16!!

I also wanted to add that I have a feeling that bright colors and prints will be back this spring/summer! I'll be on the lookout for them NOW, instead of when the craze hits. That way, I'll score deals on them!! Take care =)

Custom-made dress!

I didn’t post a picture of my outfit today because the picture didn’t come out to good. Instead, I looked into my archive and found this gorgeous dress that I had custom-made!! It fits perfectly because the lady who made it took my measurements. I wish that I can have this dress in every color, fabric, everything! I wore pink pumps with it just for fun. The pink pumps were from Payless! Yes, I buy shoes there sometimes! They were only $15 and they are soo comfy. I bought them in patent black, patent pink, & red suede too.

My outfit for today, although, not pictured:

Bebe brown plaid skinny slacks
Brown shirt from Wet Seal
Brown jacket from Banana Republic - I bought for only $16!!

Mor Furniture Review - 3/10/08

This is not my living room! I just bought this set today from Mor Furniture. I bought the entire set for only $900+ tax! I can’t wait to get it tomorrow! Will post pics when I finish furnishing my empty living room.

My next purchase for my living room is a Zebra-print shaggy rug!

My review of Mor Furniture:
5/5 stars

OMG, this place is the best furniture places that I went to! The salespeople are extremely nice and give you the space that you need to shop. At the same time, they give you the customer service that you need. The place is huge and the selection is great! Best of all, the price is right on point!

Perks:
Children can play video games. There are free snacks such as popcorn, cookies, & soda. I love Mor! I recommend it to everyone!!

Old Navy & Ross Haul - 3/9/08

Hello! So I went to Ross to see if there were anymore dresses for me to buy during their “dress sale”. Unfortunately, they didn’t have much in my size. I did, however, picked up a really nice red skirt for only $7.99. I believe it is from New York & Co.

Old Navy was next door so I stopped by and found some great deals there! I had a much clothes in the hands when I checked out! I decided to save some money and put half of the items I wanted back. Anyway, there is a wonderful deal going on at Old Navy. If you purchase an item at Old Navy, they give you a slip (I don’t know if all customers get this slip or not). You go online and take a 5 minute survey and, viola, you get 10% off your next purchase!

Old Navy:

White striped Pants - $14.49
Black pleated skirt - $14.49
Tan skirt - only $6.99! I couldn’t pass this up!!

Marshalls Haul 3/8/08 - Coasters

So today is Sunday and I feel completely lazy. I am supposed to go to Costco and a furniture store but don’t have the energy to get up! Perhaps after this post, I’ll get my butt out of bed!

So I went to Marshall’s and found really cute clothes but the price just wasn’t right for me. I did, however, buy these silver coasters. I really wanted zebra-print coasters but I’ve only seen flimsy ones.

I really like these coasters! They were only $3.99!!

Ross Haul - 3/7/08

Here is what I bought at Ross yesterday. The dress was only $16.99 and it has really great quality! It is lined w/ thick black fabric so its not see through! I hate it when dresses are see-through. I always end up throwing those away after the first wear.

The skirt is super CUTE! Pleated skirts are my "thing" recently. Although, I saw a beautiful teal blue pleated dress at Ross too but it was lined w/ lace on the top and just did not look right!

Anyway!! The skirt was only $10! It is such a gorgeous color too! I can’t wait to wear it.

Lazy Saturday..in JEANS!

I was so lazy to put together an outfit today! I guess we all have those days. I know I always stress buying clothes at really good prices but there are some things that you just cannot buy on sale!

For example - JEANS! I love jeans. I hope one day I will be able to take pictures of my jeans in my closet. I have a good amount of jeans. Unfortunately, I can't wear jeans at work. Another reason why I LOVE weekends!

Enough of my babbling! Here is my outfit for today.

Lazy Outfit:

Banana Republic turtleneck in maroon
Banana Republic black undershirt
7 For All Mankind Jeans
Nine West Heels - in Brown Suede w/ Gold trimmings. I bought these for only $28!!
http://www.bjewels.com/ Brown w/ Maroon beads necklace

Today was a wonderful day! I went to Ross and found some great deals! I bought a dress for only $16.99 and a skirt for $9.99!! I will put together outfits using my newly found deals soon! I hope everyone is doing well & have a great day!
